Your broker affects every trade you make. Use this 10-point checklist to compare brokers and avoid costly surprises.

The 10-point checklist

  1. Spreads & commissions — lower trading costs leave more profit for you. Compare spread vs commission account types.
  2. Execution speed — fast, slippage-free fills matter, especially for scalpers.
  3. Leverage — flexible leverage lets you size positions to your strategy.
  4. Deposits & withdrawals — fast, low-friction payments (card, bank, crypto) and reliable payouts.
  5. Minimum deposit — can you start at a level you're comfortable with?
  6. Range of markets — forex, crypto, indices, stocks and commodities in one account.
  7. Trading platform — stable, fast, with pro charts like TradingView.
  8. Customer support — real, responsive, ideally 24/7 in your language.
  9. Transparency & regulation — clear pricing, no hidden fees, and a clear statement of where the broker is registered and whether it is regulated.
  10. Reputation — read independent reviews and test with a demo first.
TIP

Open a demo account before funding. It's the fastest way to test spreads, execution and the platform with zero risk.

Red flags to avoid

Aion Trade publishes its costs: Standard from a $20 minimum deposit (EUR/USD 1.0 pip, no commission), Pro with $1,000 in live funds (0.78 pip, no commission) and Raw with $5,000 in live funds (0.10 pip + about $4 commission per lot). Aion Trade LLC is registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and is not regulated by a financial services authority — weigh that in your own checklist.
